Augusta, Ga--They may be one of the most intriguing football teams in the metro area this year. The Spartans of Glenn Hills. A program that's kind of been stuck in neutral for a few years but think they'll kick it into overdrive this fall.
It starts at the top with Tim McClain taking over the team. It continues with one of the more experienced roster around. Glenn Hills lost just four seniors and brings back some athletes that can make plays. Guys like quarterback Santo Nina and Earl Cobb are going to be relied on heavily. The potential is there but these guys know there's no short cuts to get to their ultimate goal
"Pushing us, making us work harder, you know we always had the talent, he's trying to instill discipline in us" said Santo Nina "You know make sure we don't cheat ourselves and discipline, that's what we've been lacking a lot"
"You know discipline takes you a long way" said new coach Tim McClain "Especially when you are trying to get over that hump of building that winning culture. It's the little things that I think that will get you over. We also need that signature win to get our program going in the right direction"
Discipline may have been lacking the last couple of years and they are really focusing on that and doing the little things right. As far as that signature win, they were close a year ago in a bunch of games, but still came up short. A senior dominated offensive line should play a big role in the success of the Spartans
