Martinez, Ga--When you go back over the years, Lakeside has produced more college cross country athletes then probably any other program around. Today, add another to the list as Sarah Bowles is headed to Georgia Tech.
Bowles actually verbally committed to the program back in early fall so she's known all along where she'll be joining former high school teammate Katie Townsend with the Jackets and the program just seemed to be the perfect fit for her.
"Not only is it a really good academic place, they're actually number one in the nation or number two for my intended major. But also the coaches and the teams are a perfect fit for me and I really connected with them on my official visit."
In case you're wondering, she's going to be a biomedical engineering major. Probably Tech is the best fit for that. She did consider Georgia where her sister runs, but in the end, Georgia Tech won out.
