RiverHawks fall on the road to Huntsville

Huntsville, Alabama--The Huntsville Havoc relied on the scoring touch of Aaron McGill, who netted two goals, to beat the Augusta RiverHawks, 6-2.

McGill scored at 7:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville and again while 17:45 into the first to make the score 3-1 Huntsville.
Augusta's power play was ineffective against Huntsville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Havoc racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. Huntsville surpassed its season average of 27.0 penalty minutes per game. The Havoc found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Huntsville averages 2.4 goals per game. With 38 shots on target during the contest, the Havoc exceeded the 19.4 shots they average per game this year.

Huntsville additionally got points from Stuart Stefan, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Huntsville also got a goal from Kyle Laughlin as well. More assists for Huntsville came via Paul DAgostino, Matt Smyth, Sam Cannata, Chapen LeBlond, and Anthony Battaglia, who each chipped in one and Ian Boots and Mike Gurtler, who contributed two a piece.

The RiverHawks' offense rang up 46 shots on Huntsville's net.

Augusta was helped by Taylor Larsen, who registered one goal. Larsen scored 11:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. Marcus Pryde provided the assist. Kyle Watson also scored for Augusta. Other players who recorded assists for Augusta were Casey Mignone and Myles McCauley, who each chipped in one.
