Region basketball tournaments pushed back

Undated--The region basketball tournaments at Greenbrier and Butler have been pushed back again thanks to the ice storm in the CSRA.

The Class 5A region tournament at Greenbrier will resume Saturday and then go Monday and Tuesday with the finals on Tuesday night. The girls have yet to play their opening round games while the boys are down to their final four teams.

The Class 4A region tournament at Butler has been pushed back to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Other then the two play in games, the girls have yet to play a game, but the boys have also gotten down to the semifinals.

This also means the 4A region games will run right up to the start of the GHSA state tournament.

The region 7A tournament at Aquinas has been pushed back with a Monday, Tuesday finish as they have reached their semifinals for both the boys and girls.

The region 3AA tournament has seen some rescheduling from Dublin, as well. Play will resume on Saturday with the quarterfinal round. The Westside boys taking on Dublin, and East Laurens facing Screven County. The boys and girls semifinal rounds start Monday with the championship games to be played Tuesday.
