Augusta, GA- Paine College Lion, Senior Mario Jordan, has joined the 1000 points club. Jordan scored his 1000th collegiate career point, Monday, January 14, 2013 in Frankfort, Kentucky as the Lions faced Kentucky State University.

Mario scored 11 points, Jan. 12 against Lane College, to put him just nine points away.

Out of the break, and unbeknownst to Jordan, he was just six points away from recording a milestone. A 3-pointer cut Kentucky State’s lead to one (54-53) with 8:47 remaining, and the milestone was set in stone at 8:14, connecting on a third 3-pointer to give the Lions a two point (56-54) lead over the Thorobreds.

Although the Lions were defeated (78-73), Jordan finished the night leading the Lions scoring 16 points; 4-7 from the field, 4-5 from the 3-point arc, and perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.
