Pacers get the sweep of the Hurricanes
Rick Alderman led five Pacers in double figures and the nationally 19th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team acquired an 81-74 Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia Southwestern on Monday evening at the Convocation Center.

AIKEN, S.C. – Rick Alderman led five Pacers in double figures and the nationally 19th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball team acquired an 81-74 Peach Belt Conference victory over Georgia Southwestern on Monday evening at the Convocation Center.
USC Aiken (14-3, 8-1 PBC) has now won six of its last seven outings. The Pacers are a perfect 11-0 at the Convocation Center currently.
The Pacers ended Monday’s win over Georgia Southwestern (11-5, 2-5 PBC) shooting a scorching 54.5 percent (24-for-44) as a team. USC Aiken shot over 50 percent as a team in both the first and second half.

Both teams were strong from beyond the arc with USC Aiken shooting 42.9 percent (6-for-14) as a team. Georgia Southwestern knocked down 11 of its 22 (50 percent) 3-point attempts on Monday.
USC Aiken was equally as strong from the free throw line where they were 27-for-37 (73 percent). Georgia Southwestern connected upon 75 percent (15-for-20) of its shots from the charity stripe.
Both teams were turnover prone in the game, but USC Aiken was much more profitable on its return from the Hurricane miscues, as the Pacers scored 38 points off Georgia Southwestern’s 26 turnovers in the game.
Alderman (Roanoke, Va./Concord) missed just one shot from the field on Monday, going 6-of-7. He was 5-for-6 from the free throw line. He ended his night with 17 points and four rebounds in total.
Ronald Zimmerman (Columbia, S.C./Spring Valley) nailed three 3-pointers in the Pacer win. Zimmerman, who was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line, ended his night with 16 points.
AIKEN, S.C. – Led by three players in double figures the nationally 11th-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball team picked up a 65-42 victory over Georgia Southwestern on Monday evening at the Convocation Center.
USC Aiken (15-2, 8-1 PBC) has now won 14 of its last 15 games. The Pacers are a perfect 9-0 at the Convocation Center in the 2011-12 regular season.
The Pacers held Georgia Southwestern to just 21 percent (13-for-62) shooting as a team on Monday evening.
USC Aiken concluded its dominating win over Georgia Southwestern (11-5, 3-4 PBC) shooting 38.9 percent (21-for-54) as a team.
Hannah DeGraffinreed (Raleigh, N.C./Merrimack College) led all players in the game with 14 points. DeGraffinreed netted 11 of her 14 points in the first half. She finished the game with six rebounds to go along with a career-high tying three blocks.
DeGraffinreed missed just two field goal (4-for-6) attempts on the night. She was 6-of-7 from the free throw line.
Mia Antoine (Stone Mountain, Ga./Dominion Christian) knocked down a career-high eight free throws en route to a career-best 13 points in the Pacer win over Georgia Southwestern. She was 8-for-9 from the free throw line in total. She also had four assists.
