Pacers Kayla Harris named PBC player of the week
University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball player Kayla Harris has been named the Peach Belt Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball player Kayla Harris has been named the Peach Belt Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The announcement came from the league office on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012.
The 2010-11 Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, Harris garners the weekly accolade for the first time in her career. She is the second Pacer to acquire the award this season. Brittany Hill (Mechanicsville, Va./Quinnipiac) was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Dec. 19, 2011.
Harris led four Pacers in double figures in No. 15 USC Aiken’s 65-62 road win over No. 17 Lander on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012.
Harris concluded the win over Lander with 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. She was 8-for-15 (53.3 percent) from the field in the game.
The sophomore forward from Raleigh, N.C. followed up her performance against Lander by posting 13 points and five rebounds in the Pacers’ home win over UNC Pembroke on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Overall on the week, Harris averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal per game.
