Aiken, SC--More honors today for the USC Aiken basketball team. Coach Vince Alexander has been named district coach of the year while Paul Larsen and Re Nelson first team all district that includes all the southeast. Awards are nice but titles are better and that's what the pacers are focusing on.

It's off to Louisville, Kentucky next week where they'll play their elite eight game on wednesday night. In the past the Pacers have kind of eased off the gas this late in the season and kind of given the guys a chance to catch their breath. Not this year. While practices might not be as long they are as intense as ever.

"I definitely feel it's good" said Re Nelson "In previous years we kind of laid off towards the end of the season and actually we think that's why we haven't made it this far because we'll just do half court practices instead of being intense like we normally are."

"I think it's very instrumental in playing a role in our success this year, you know post season success" said Vince Alexander "And I think our guys are in better condition and I think they are playing with that same intensity that we haven't had over the last four or five years"

Coach Vince Alexander will give the guys one more day off but still is trying to keep the energy level up as they get ready for drury on wednesday. They'll play in legendary Freedom Hall in Louisville.
