CONOVER, N.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men’s golf team earned a second-place finish at the Rock Barn Collegiate Invitational that was hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne.
The Pacers recorded a two-day total of 598 on the par-72, 7,027-yard course. USC Aiken finished seven strokes behind Queens University of Charlotte (591) and seven strokes ahead of third-place North Greenville (605).
Leading the way for head coach Mike Carlisle’s team was runner-up Brandon Robinson-Thompson, who notched a 36-hole, 147, finishing three-over par. He was just one stroke behind the individual champion.
Andrew Ward totaled a two-day effort of 148, earning a tie for fifth place.
Kyle Godsman garnered an 11th-place effort of 150. After opening with a 76 on Monday, Godsman trimmed two strokes off his initial score for a 74 on Tuesday.
Hayden Letien finished just outside the top 20, tying for 22nd. He posted a two-round total of 153. Letien sliced three strokes off his opening-round total of 78, coming home with a 75 for the last 18 holes.
Gaines Milliner rounded out the field for the Pacers. He tied for 42nd with a 159.
For his effort, Robinson-Thompson earned all-tournament team honors.
