GREENWOOD, S.C. – The nationally third-ranked University of South Carolina Aiken golf team finished second at the Fourth Annual Bearcat Golf Classic at the par-72, 6,800-yard Greenwood Country Club.

USC Aiken concluded the three-round Bearcat Golf Classic with a team total of 882 (304-293-285). The team total of 882 saw the Pacers finish just four strokes behind 2013 Bearcat Golf Classic team champion Belmont Abbey (293-289-296=878).

The second place finish is USC Aiken’s third second place finish in its last four tournaments. The Pacers also finished second at the Richard Rendleman Invitational and the Bobcat Invitational.

Three Pacers finished in the top-10 individually in the event with JP Solis (Morelia, Mexico/Lico Morelia) leading the way. Solis finished tied for third at 218 (76-75-67). Mark Dickson (Edinburgh, Scotland/Firrhill) also claimed his first top-5 finish of the season by ending his efforts in the Bearcat Golf Classic tied for fifth at 219 (77-70-72).
