Aiken, SC--Hard to believe but the college baseball season is just two weeks away and a lot of eyes will once again be on the Pacers of USC Aiken. For a couple of reasons really. First, they were somehow denied a tournament bid a season ago, and they have one loaded pitching staff.

Head coach Kenny Thomas may be smiling a little more then usual as they are just about set to play the games for real. Three starters back, two closers back and an all american catcher in josh miller. It has all the potential for a great team. But there's that dreaded "p" word.

"It's a good team that has a lot of potential" said Kenny Thomas "I said the other day the big thing this team has got to get is that "P" word off of them. Instead of potentially being a very good team, we have to make sure to get that "p" word off of us."

"I mean we're trying to keep it cool and collective and we're trying not to focus on revenge, but I mean it's really fired us up." added Derek Beasley

These guys admit being left out of the tournament a year ago is serving motivation this year. But also know they still have to come out and play every single day in one of the toughest conferences in the nation.
