Pacers and Jags tied for 10th at Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. – The GRU Augusta Jaguars climbed the leaderboard in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club to sit tied for 10th heading in to tomorrow’s final 18 holes.

The Jaguars were paced by lone senior Alex Wennstam who shot a 4-over 76 and is tied for 21st overall with 18 holes left for tomorrow. After posting six birdies in yesterday’s opening round, junior Cody Shafer shot an 8-over 80 and tied for 38th, while freshman Jake Marriott improved his first round score by five strokes with his team-best, round two 2-over 74. Sophomore Meechai Padung ended the day with a 5-over 77 and freshman Viktor Edin posted a plus-ten 82, respectively.

Virginia is the team leader with a 578 and Auburn and South Carolina and College of Charleston are knotted up in second place at 579. The College of Charleston’s Zach Munroe showed out for his host school as he is tied with USC Aiken’s Brandon Robinson-Thompson for the number one spot at 3-under.

Of the 15 teams in this week's field, five are ranked in the Golfstat Top 50. Virginia is the highest-ranked team at No. 10. The Cavaliers have finished runner-up twice this season and won the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in October. No. 30 Auburn, No. 36 Kentucky and No. 39 Wake Forest are also ranked in the top 50, while USC Aiken is the fifth-ranked team in Division II.

The Pacers Branden Robinson-Thompson is tied for first at -3 heading into the final round.
