BEAVERTON, Ore. – University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball senior guard Re’mon Nelson has been tabbed as a Third-Team All-American by the Division II Bulletin.
USC Aiken junior forward Paul Larsen was chosen an Honorable Mention All-American by the publication.
The All-America honor for Nelson caps off an impressive senior campaign that saw him earn Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year honors as well as Peach Belt Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player accolades.
Nelson was chosen as the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Southeast Regional Most Outstanding Player.
The First-Team All-District selection averaged 13.9 points, 6.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game in the 2012-13 season.
Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/Canal Winchester HS) closed out his prestigious career at USC Aiken as the all-time leader in Peach Belt Conference history with 525 assists. USC Aiken's all-time steals leader concluded his Pacer career with 196 steals.
Nelson is second all-time in USC Aiken's NCAA Division II history with 1,251 career points.
Nelson scored in double figures 25 times this past season. He dished out six or more assists in a contest 21 times. Nelson had four double-doubles.
A First-Team All-District selection, Larsen (Mooresville, N.C./Mercer) put together a strong first season in a Pacer uniform.
Larsen averaged 12.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. One of the best low post players in the country, Larsen had 13 double-doubles on the 2012-13 season.
