The Pacers would even things in the contest in the top of the sixth when Ty Barkell (Denver, Colo./Palmer Ridge HS) doubled down the left field line to score Bill Gerstenslager (Solon, Ohio/Mercyhurst), who had singled up the middle earlier in the inning.
Armstrong would claim the victory with a run in the bottom of the eighth.

One of three pitchers used on the day by USC Aiken, Wyatt Brown (Suwanee, Ga./Middle Georgia) obtained the loss on the hill for the Pacers. Brown (2-1) pitched the first 7.1 innings, fanning five.
Armstrong reliever Juan Vera (3-2) dealt the final two innings of the game for the Pirates to pick up his third win of the year.
