New coach takes over at Cross Creek

Cross Creek's football team has a new coach, this after they relieved Travis Nixon of his duties. The new man in charge is Robert McCarty, who was coach of the JV program. Mccarty's got his work cut out as he takes over a program that has had two winning season since they became a school in 1999. One big thing he's trying to do, get more kids out playing.

"Just getting the kids out there has been the biggest thing" said new coach Robert McCarty "The past few years, we really haven't had the numbers. we've had about 40-50-60 kids tops in your JV and varsity program together, our goal right now is to get at least 100 kids in the program."

He already likes the way the program is headed with good numbers in the weight room and that'll increase once the winter sports season comes to an end.
