June 30, 2014 GREENSBORO, GA-- In terms of success, ARC product Ken Whisenhunt has had plenty in the coaching ranks.
He coordinated a victory in Super Bowl XL with the Steelers. He led the Cardinals to another big game appearance in 2009. This year, Whisenhunt has a new project with the Tennessee Titans.
On Monday morning, several of Whisenhunt's former pupils and friends hit the links at Lake Oconee for the Arians Family Foundation Golf Classic. According to Whisenhunt's peers, there's no doubt he'll be successful with the Titans.
"He was extremely successful in Arizona and he'll be extremely successful in Tennessee, once he gets the quarterback situation fixed. He's a heck of a football coach and a great guy," Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said.
Arians is one of many to work with Whisenhunt in the NFL. Both were on the Steelers staff-- Arians coached receivers, Whisenhunt was the offensive coordinator.
The praise wasn't coming only from coaches. Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald spent six successful seasons with Whisenhunt in Arizona.
"I really enjoyed playing for him. I learned a lot from him on and off the field. Just being around him for that many years and getting to know him and his family I have a lot of respect for him," Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. "I really want to see him do well in Tennessee."
