Laney girls win, ladies of Washington County bow out

Undated--The ladies of Laney have advanced to the final four for a fifth straight year by defeating Pelham Tuesday night. Meanwhile Washington County girls see their season end at the hands of Macon Southwest.

In class 2-A, the lady Wildcats rolled over Pelham 59-40. Laney led big at the half and were never challenged. Simone Smith and Khadijiah Cave both scored 16 points. Cave added 21 rebounds.

Laney is now undefeated with a 29-0 record as they head to the state semifinals where they will battle another undefeated team in Kendrick. That game will be Friday at 3:30 at Georgia College and State.

In the 3-A quarterfinals, Washington County falls to SW Macon 58-47. The Golden Hawks got down big early and were never able to mount a serious challenge to the Lady Patriots
