Martinez, Ga--On Saturday more state titles will be handed out, this time in cross country. Look for the Lakeside boys and girls to push for the top prize and bring home a title.

Both squads have been ranked in the top five most of the season and the girls are actually number one in states. There's been ups and downs throughout the season but now the teams have bonded together and are looking to run their best races on Saturday.

"I don't think we've peaked yet. I think in previous years we may have peaked too soon and by state, they were coming down a little bit, but now I think they're ready to peak on Saturday, I'm hoping" said coach Jerry Meitin

"I told these guys at the beginning of the season if we work hard we can do it and I really believe we can do it" said Chase Fowers

"If there is any pressure at all, I think it's a good type of pressure because we know there's a lot expected of us and so you know we really want to pull through and make our coaches proud."

Panthers are now a 5-A school so they avoid rival marist this time around. Doesn't mean the road to the title is any easier, just means the competition will be different saturday in Carrollton.
