Martinez, Ga--For a second straight year, Lakeside reached the state playoffs before losing in the opening round for a second straight year. For 2013, the Panthers are returning a lot of that experience hoping, this time, it can take them deeper in to the show.

The skill players will shoulder most of the responsibility. Head coach Jarrett Troxler played a lot of underclassmen last year giving this group some knowledge in pressure situations. Quarterback Hunter Banks and standout tailback Jonathan Edwards are poised for big seasons in Columbia County.

"with a senior quarterback coming back and some sophomore kids got thrown in the fire, played early. Now they're juniors and they've grown a lot. Having that year under their belt, you can really see it now." said Jarrett Troxler

"The sky is the limit. State, region championship. If we put in the work with coach troxler and the rest of the coaches we can do it. Everybody's dedicated, ready to work. Everybody wants to make it to the top." said Kendall White

The key to making it to the top for a region championship will be starting at the bottom. Opening the year against Statesboro and Thomson, a signature win out of the gate will be tough to do but would give this team some confidence moving toward the region slate.
