AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken women’s basketball team registered a 72-65 victory over the Erskine Flying Fleet Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest behind a career-high 20 points from Porsha Martin.
The Pacers improve to 2-4 on the young season.
Martin corralled eight rebounds, blocked three shots and added three steals in 29 minutes of work for head coach Mike Brandt’s team. Mariah Durian totaled a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of work for the victors.
Kassy Johannsen accounted for eight points off the bench while Mackenzie Reese and Kate Duff netted six points apiece.
Tiffany Addison and Courtney Mealing registered five points apiece while Carly Gilreath chipped in three. Duff dished out a career-high five assists to go along with three steals.
For the game, the Pacers canned 42.6 percent of their shots from the floor and out-rebounded the opponents 45-38. USC Aiken connected on 19-of-26 shots from the charity stripe (73.1 percent).
