Lady Pacers ready for others to step up their roles

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Aiken, SC--The college basketball season tips off in earnest this weekend. Among those on the court, the lady Pacers of USC Aiken. They've built a winning tradition at the Convocation Center and expect that to continue.

May be a little tougher out of the gate this year. A pretty big turnover on the roster having lost three of their leading scorers. Now the likes of Porsha Martin, Emily O'Rourke, Mackenzie Reese and others need to step up their game to keep that pacer tradition going.

"I don't think we'll have to change a lot" said Emily O'Rourke "More people are going to have to step up and a lot of people have stepped up so far this year. Everybody has a chance to shine this year"

"My expectations are, you know I want them to improve and want them to understand it as quickly as possible and I do understand I do have to have some patience with them. But for the most part they've been doing a great job of improving" added Mike Brandt

Pacers have several freshmen on the roster as well and don't be surprised if they make immediate impacts to help keep this program one of the best in the country. They host Mount Olive on Saturday.
