Lady Pacers can't afford turnovers in Peach Belt play

Jan. 7, 2013 (Aiken, SC)-- With everyone now into conference games, look for the ladies of USC Aiken to be players.

While their overall record may not show it, head coach Mike Brandt usually finds a way to get his team up for the Peach Belt games.

They'll certainly have to, seeing they've struggled through the first 12 games. Turnovers have been the biggest concern. Taking care of the ball in a conference known for defense is of the utmost importance.

"We need to look at where the turnovers are coming from, are they coming from our point guard, are they coming from our inside players?" Brandt said. "Unfortunately it's hard to pinpoint that because they're coming from everybody."

"We came back after Christmas and just went back to the basics a lot and did some solid fundamentals "

To that end, newcomer Courtney Mealing has been moved to the point guard position, away from her normal shooting guard spot. Still a young team and even coach Brandt says he has to coach better in the upcoming weeks.
