Second round of the state playoffs in Georgia resume for the ladies Friday night. Another home game for the Irish of Aquinas, who hope to punch their ticket into the semifinals.

Aquinas was bounced in the second round a year ago but feel like this team is more expeirenced and more prepared. It helps when you have school record holder Syndney Thompson wearing your colors. Over 100 goals for her career including 30 plus this year. She's the catalyst and when she goes, the rest rest feed off her.

"It's helped a lot" said Sydney Thompson "We have Ashlan Shields, who's a freshman, she's done a great job in the mid field, got me the ball, and then another freshman, Kennedy ( McKnight) who is so fast, we can put her where ever we need her and she'll just get the job done."

"She's just unreal" said James Leonard " She can do whatever she wants with the ball at her feet. She definitely put the work in since last season, she's been working really hard. I think they see how hard she works and that makes them drive too."

The Irish host Savannah Country Day Friday at 5:30. If the Irish were to win, they'd also host the semifinal game next week.
