Graniteville, SC--In just three short years the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley has gained a world wide reputation as one of, if not, the best junior tournaments in the world. Even before they held the first event, there was a purpose behind the tournaments, to help out the First Tee Programs of Aiken and Augusta. That was the reasoning behind today's event at Sage valley. With lead sponsor Electrolux on hand, the tournament presented both first tee programs checks of $200,000.

"Wow, we're speechless" said Elizabeth Smith "It's just a huge impact because it allows us to conitnue what we do every day. We're reaching over 12,000 young people in just Aiken County. We reach them through character development, life skills through the game of golf, outreach programs, after school programs, we reach them in the schools so its just so exciting."

"Golf has been very important to a lot of kids in this area and a lot of folks still play it obviously" said Tom Wyatt "We have a lot of golf course in the area and whatever we can do to grow the game we're all better off for it."

Also cool to note, there's already been a few of the kids who've played in the Junior Invite, play in the US Open and other PGA tour events, and i'm sure more will be coming down the road
