Jaguars struggle on the links in Dallas, Texas

DALLAS, Texas. – The Jaguars shot a 369 Tuesday afternoon to finish 11th at the sixth-annual Royal Oaks Intercollegiate at the Royal Oaks Country Club.

GRU Augusta finished 11th in the 12-team, par-71 event led by lone-senior Alex Wennstam’s 4-under 209 (67-71-71) to tie for 15th. Sophomore Meechai Padung signed for a 1-over 214 (71-70-73) to tie for 32nd and freshman Jake Marriott shot a 5-over 218 (74-72-72) for 49th.

Freshman Viktor Edin finished tied for 62nd with an 8-over 221 (73-74-74), sophomore Maverick Antcliff recorded a 17-over 230 (74-77-79) for 68th and freshman Jackson Stroup rounded out the Jags in 69th with a 21-over 234 (76-79-79).

The top-five teams were all ranked – paced by No. 3 Oklahoma State’s 340 in the third and final round. Kevin Dougherty led the Cowboys and the event, finishing in first place with an 11-under 202 (63-68-71). Individually, OSU posted four in the leading six and in the team score, edged out Stanford by 16 strokes and co-tournament hosts Baylor by 19.
