Augusta, Ga--It's the time of year when college basketball players aren't big fans of. Not only do they have a usual lull in the schedule, they also have to worry about end of the semester finals. For Augusta State, it's a pretty big gap between games.
While they play Saturday, they're in the midst of a stretch where they only a couple of games over a three week stretch. That equates to a lot of practice time. Jags off to a solid 4 and 0 start including a big road win at Virginia Union yesterday. The days off are just the nature of the beast.
"We have three games in 16 days and two of them within three days of each other" said Dip Metress 'It's part of the natural grind of college basketball. You can work on some things and take some time off during exams."
Jags offense has been clicking averaging 85 points a game including five starters in double figures led by a guy off the bench, Ryan Weems. Jags head to lander saturday to open Peach Belt play.
