Dec. 3, 2013 AUGUSTA, Ga. -- GRU Augusta Head Coach Dip Metress announced Tuesday that senior forward Harold Doby will miss an extended period of time with a left foot injury.
Doby sustained a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in the Jags’ 72-70 overtime loss at Benedict on November 26. He had the injury surgically repaired Tuesday afternoon by the Jags’ team physician, Dr. Monte Hunter.
According to the GRU Men’s Basketball certified athletic trainer Lisa Cummins, Doby will likely miss 4-6 weeks.
Doby, from Augusta and in his third season as a member of the program, currently ranks third on the team in scoring at 12.8 ppg., and leads the squad in rebounding at 9.2 rpg. He’s shooting a career-best 52.2 percent from the field and registered a career-high 28 points at Shaw on November 23.
The Jags (4-2) tip off their Peach Belt Conference schedule on Saturday, Dec. 7 when they host Lander in a 7:30 p.m., matchup in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
