Hephzibah, Ga--You would think a three win team from a year ago would be on their heels and expecting the worse. Just the opposite for Hephzibah. Where they've come from and where they're headed, are big time opposite directions.
Rebels played a lot of underclassmen and they've grown up on friday nights. The learning curve this year was a lot smoother and the Rebels are more focused. The offensive line returns, a stable of running backs are ready to go and the confidence level is as high as it's been a quite some time.
"We try to keep each other accountable for everything we do" said Raheem Jennings "We don't try to discourage anyone, we coach each other up and we do what we have to do."
"We're kind of way ahead of where we were last year as far as installing our offense and defense because of a lot of carry over with a good part of the O-Line is all back in the same position as they were last year and a lot of the same running backs are back" said John Bowen
D'Angelo Stokes and Raheem Jennings are just two guys who'll be asked to carry the load in teh backfield. A change at quarterback will see Daryl Hammond under center for the first time but coach John Bowen likes his athletic ability as well as how he grasps the system. Getting wins early on would go a long way in Hephzibah having a winning season.
