Harlem, Ga--By the end of the week, the Harlem softball will be headed back and are hoping they have some extra hardware on board the bus. It's off to Columbus and the Elite Eight on the diamonds. And this is one confident crew.
A 28 and 6 record now for the lady Bulldogs and have won 12 straight, sweeping their way through the post season so far. Led by pitcher and sophomore, Amber Garrett, these baby Bulldogs are just that. Only three seniors on the roster. Last year they made it this far, this year, they're even hungrier to compete for a title.
"We know what to expect now going into it and I think last year we were shocked when we got there so we know how to prepare now" said Amber Garrett
"We're young though." said Mike Leverett "We starting a lot of freshmen this year but I don't think they know what pressure is. They just want to be there. My shortstop the other day, she was I'm just super happy....she's just having fun and that's it. If I can get everybody to just have fun, no pressure, we got a good ball team"
They'll play their opening round game against Breman thursday afternoon. The Blue Devils come in with a 20 and 11 mark.
