Grovetown, Ga--While Grovetown has grown as a school has become one of the biggest in the area, the football program is still a work in progress. Still looking for a break out season.
Whether this will be that year remains to be seen but coach Rodney Holder likes where things are headed. First of all, he has a huge number of kids out which will give them depth. He's going to have a young quarterback and a young backfield, but feels like some changes to the offense will put the warriors in a better position to compete and win.
"You don't see so much the wishbone type of stuff anymore, you have to be flexible, you have to be able to adjust and you know, not telling too much that's kind of what we looked at and we're more flexible now" said coach Rodney Holder
"It's just the mentality of the team." said Ben Jean "We've had a losing season the past couple of years so you have to change the mentality. I think we have the talent, it's just the mentality has to change."
Coach Holder says the strength of the team will be up front. Most of his offensive line has played together for a few years now so they should lead thecharge. And as he says, every great running back, has a great line in front of him. Grovetown will have their hands full though playing in one of the toughgest regions around.
