May 10, 2014 AUGUSTA, GA-- College football recruiting has turned into a year round process. Camps and seven on seven drills are all part of getting noticed in the world of college football. Augusta's Gridiron Elite camp is doing it's best to help local products find a school.
Juniors and sophomores displayed their skills at Aquinas High School Saturday with the goal of getting a college football glance. One of those players is Lakeside receiver/defensive back BJ Raymond.
Named MVP for Saturday's camp, the interest has picked up in recent months for Raymond.
"It's a blessing to have offers this early. A couple of months ago, I was stressed about it and didn't really know, but it's all coming together. My mom told me to be patient and keep God first. That's what I've been doing and good things have been happening for me," Raymond said.
Raymond has received some interest from ACC and Sun Belt schools. Currently, he has offers from Appalachian State and Mercer with Yale University taking a longer look at the soon-to-be senior.
