While we focused on football signings yesterday, we can't forget there are other sports and other kids getting those coveted college scholarships. Worth the same no matter what the sport. Four area girls have signed on the dotted line to play soccer.
Two of them are from Greenbrier, Bay Daniels and Carly Ray. Both just happen to be going to South Carolina. Talk about dedicated kids, Daniels and Ray would twice a week travel to the Atlanta area for club ball. Now they'll head in the other direction and it was purely coincidental they ended up staying together and joining the Gamecocks.
"We had never planned to" said bay Daniels "It was just a camp we both decided to go to and we both ended up loving it and we both felt right there and we were definitely surprised when we both, you know, ended up going there." said Bay Daniels
"I didn't until it happened" said Carly Ray "Then I said, we're both good caliber players and we knew we could play where we wanted to and I'm so happy for her she's going where I am because I mean I know she really wanted it so we're both going to do well together."
Of course both are hoping to lead Greenbrier to another state playoff appearance. That season, isn't too far away.
