AUGUSTA, GA – The Augusta GreenJackets announced today that they will be hosting the Local qualifying and Sectional Championships for Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit and Run Competition this season.

The local qualifying event will be held at Lake Olmstead Stadium at 2 PM (registration will start at 12:30 PM.) Winners from that event will be honored pre-game at the GreenJackets game against the Asheville Tourists. Winners from the local qualifying event will return to Lake Olmstead Stadium on May 18th for the Sectional Championships immediately after the 2 PM GreenJackets game (approximately at 6 PM).

Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) is a free, exciting skills event for boys and girls where participants have the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition including Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game held at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN.

“We’re honored to host the Local and Sectional Pitch, Hit & Run tournaments,” said GreenJackets General Manager Tom Denlinger. “These championships give us the opportunity to showcase the talented young baseball players of the CSRA as they work their way to the National Finals in Minneapolis.”
