June 7, 2014 AUGUSTA, GA-- Domonique Taylor's double in the 10th, stopped a minor winning streak at three for the Augusta GreenJackets (30-30). Tied at five, Taylor lined a shot to left for the game-winning Lexington Legends (26-36) run.
The Legends scored two runs in the first inning off of GreenJackets starting pitcher, Christian Jones. Ramon Torres drove in the first run with a double down the left field line. Torres then scored on an error by GreenJackets catcher, Ty Ross.
Chris Lofton tied the game for the GreenJackets in the second inning on a double to center field.
Both the Legends and GreenJackets each scored three runs in the third. Back to back doubles by Frank Schwindel and Alfredo Escalera-Maldonado drove in two of the three runs for Lexington. Dominique Taylor added the third run with a single up the middle.
The GreenJackets responded in the bottom half of the inning thanks to John Polonius and a RBI single. The drive to left field tied the game at five.
The game remained tied until Taylor's double gave Lexington the advantage.
GreenJackets relief pitcher, Ray Black, pitched in the eighth inning of Saturday’s game. He gave up one hit and struck out two. He recorded a 102 mile per hour fastball for the second time in one week. Black also recorded a 102 mile per hour fastball on Wednesday night against the Rome Braves.
The GreenJackets conclude their series against the Lexington Legends Sunday, June 8 at 7 p.m.
