Undated--For the second straight year a national honor for a softball player from the CSRA. MaxPreps naming Glascock County's Victoria Griswell as it's national player of the week.

Griswell does it all for the lady Panthers both pitching and at the plate. On the mound she was four and oh this past week with a .24 earned run average. 26 strikeouts in 29 innings. At the plate, she hit over 500 while scoring five runs and picking up eight stolen bases. Shocked would be an understatement when she found out she was selected.

"I was pretty excited actually' said Victoria Griswell "I was actually shocked because I didn't know I got it. I didn't believe I got it at first because that's a great opportunity because I have other people looking at me now"

"As far as on the mound, her mound presence is a lot calmer, she doesn't get rattled" said coach Matt Swint "Just being a team player, being able to come right back after at a batter. She might not get the call she wants from an umpire and being able to come right back and throw a strike right where she needs it"

The numbers she put up this past week were just a microcosm of the season seeing she's a perfect 11 and 0 pitching with a .11 ERA. 63 strikeouts in 61 innings. As for the team, a perfect 12 and 0 start on the season with only a handful of upperclassmen on the roster.
