For Georgia Tech, the countdown rolls down to under 48 hours. The Jackets get an early afternoon kick off in the Sun Bowl, and right now it's a double dose of prep for Paul Johnson's team.

First, they're getting ready for preseason number one Southern Cal.

Beyond that, they need to get themselves used to the dry air in El Paso. After practicing in Atlanta all year, El Paso's a much different atmosphere, so the Jackets have been happy to get out there and get used to their surroundings.

Linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu said, "It was definitely great to get out there and feel the weather, feel the air and kind of get adjusted to that. We've been practicing mostly in Atlanta, so it feels great to get our feet back under us."

Coach Johnson added, "It's good to get back out there. We had four days off since Christmas. We had a full pads practice, and guys tried to fly around out there a little bit, so it went well."

The Jackets have their own motivation in this one. They need a win to finish without a losing record. With a 6-7 mark, a loss would give them their worst finish since 1994.
