Martinez, Ga--During his college playing days at Georgia Southern, Adrian Peterson was a man among boys, and was the national player of the year in 1999 for Division 1-AA. Wednesday, Peterson paying a visit to Augusta Christian.
Peterson talking to the kids about life lessons he learned while growing up and becoming a NFL fixture with the Chicago Bears. Many don't realize he had a speech impediment which became motivation as he chased his dreams. A.P. is trying to motivate the kids saying they can overcome obstacles to succeed in chasing their dreams.
"I did a lot of things on the field, but now as a motivational speaker, coming out and sharing my story, and seeing they response that I get, it's great to show them that whatever you're going through, you know, with hard work and discipline, you can overcome it."
A.P. said it's great for pro athletes to be hero's to kids today, but they should also look to others they can actually reach out and touch. Whether it be a relative or a teacher, but someone who can directly impact your life every day.
