Undated--It's border war week in Athens as the Dawgs and Gamecocks get ready to renew acquaintances between the hedges. It's still a very lopsided rivalry but things have changed in recent years.
Of coure the Gamecocks are coming in off a solid opening week victory ove North Carolina while the dawgs are hungry after the road loss in Clemson. This will be the 65th meeting between the two with the Dawgs having won 46 of them. Of course lately, it's gone the Gamecock way with three straight over the dawgs. Sure it's a rivalry game, but i think Steve Spurrier puts this in perspective.
"It's hard to get another big rival for Georgia" said Steve Spurrier "I mean they have Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, they almost had a fight with Vanderbilt a couple of years ago, some of the coaches that is. So anyway it's hard for them to have too many enemies and we still haven't beaten them enough for them to sort of circle South Carolina and say that's a team we have to beat"
Probably more of a rival for South Carolina then the other way around. Interesting fact, despite the last two wins for USC, Georgia was the team that ended up winning the east and going to the SEC title game. 4:30 kick off saturday in Athens.
