"Gentle Giant" Garret Siler

Augusta, Ga--One of the most popular basketball players from the area continues to be Garret Siler. While his college playing days are done, Siler continues to give back to the community. For the second year, he's providing families with meals for Christmas. Last year, he helped out 30 families and this year, that number has doubled this year much to his surprise.

"I really didn't, I thought it was going to be kind of the same setup as my camp as it slowly progressed" said Garret Siler "I think people just want to help other people and everybody wants to be a part of something better and I just want to have an organization as well as all these projects be something bigger then just a guy who plays basketball"

Siler has been holding a basketball camp the last few years as just a small token to say thanks to the area that's supported him. Through his Big "G" Hoops foundation, he's always looking to do more. Siler, was playing basketball overseas to start the year but now is back stateside

If you'd like to help out with the foundation, contact Jamie Quarles at 706-729-2449 for more information.
