Augusta, Ga--The search for a new baseball coach at Georgia Regents University Augusta is over and they went just down the road in Athens for the new man in charge. Bulldog assistant Jason Eller has been hired to lead the Jaguar program.

Eller has spent the past 11 years in Athens as an assistant with David Perno's Georgia program but now gets his shot as the man in charge. You may remember the Jags reassigned Chris Cooper following the season and they had over 250 applications for the job. For Eller, this is what he's been waiting for, a chance to leave his mark on a program.

"I was looking at it, even before our season was done at Georgia, even though I probably shouldn't say that, but I did have my eyes on it and our goals to be a head coach and this ended up being the opportunity that we wanted, this was our number one choice." said Jason Eller

Unlike in the past at GRUA, Eller's sole duties will be to lead the baseball program. He does have ties to the CSRA as his wife is from Sandersville.
