GLASCOCK, Ga. (WRDW) -- Cornelius Washington was arrested on Friday night for speeding and driving with a suspended license along Georgia Highway 80, the Glascock County Sheriff's Office said.

Washington was taken to the McDuffie County jail. Washington has paid for both misdemeanor offenses, the Sheriff's Office said.

Washington is a former UGA player and was drafted by the Chicago Bears last year. He is currently listed on the Chicago Bear's website as a defensive end.

This isn't the first run in with the law for Washington. In October of 2011, he was suspended for two games at UGA after being arrested for driving under the influence and speeding.

The Glascock County Sheriff's Office said Washington was one of "the nicest and most respectful" people they've encountered at the Sheriff's Office.
