Aiken, SC--It's pretty safe to say in the history of South Carolina gamecock baseball, Michael roth will go down as one of, if not the greatest program to don the garnett and black. Before he resumes his journey as a pro ballplayer, Roth took a little time to pay a visit to South Aiken high school over the weekend.

He's a ballplayer first, but has also become a motivational speaker. He's got plenty to draw on that's for sure. His collegiate career took him to the tops of the sport in winning back to back national titles. Even during his time in columbia, he knew he could impact others and now is continuing down that path.

"After we won the first College World Series a lot of teachers and stuff wanted me to come in and talk to their schools" said Michael Roth "I mentored a kid at an elementary school so I enjoy doing things like that, speaking to students, talking to them about how to handle failure and success. It just kind of took me down that path."

Roth is part of the angels orginazation and is kind of hoping to end up in high class A, instead of the lower level in Iowa, where he says, it snows in april. He's got a point.
