Aug. 4, 2014 EVANS, GA-- For the Evans Knights, the fourth quarter was a tough one in 2013. Over and over again, the Knights found themselves in games, only to fall short in the final minutes.
On the bright side, a few games go the other way this year and the Knights are a playoff team.
The message for the upcoming season? Learn from the losses and move on.
In regards to talent, Evans has it, especially at the skill positions. Quarterback Matlin Marshall returns surrounded by weapons at receiver and running back. Confidence is the biggest weapon for the Knights. It's safe to say, they have a lot of that regarding their offensive prowess.
"I don't think we're going to be shabby on offense. I'm just saying...we'll see, we'll see. I like what I've seen in the offseason and we've got some weapons. The cupboard is certainly not dry," coach Marty Jackson said.
"We've really got a lot of weapons on offense at wide receiver and running back. We should be pretty good this year, coming in to the second year of the offense," Marshall said.
The Knights believe another year in this offense will make a huge difference. Unfortunately, the region is stacked again. It's a 10 team region in 5A-2.
Another position to keep an eye on in Evans is the defensive line. Coach Jackson likes the depth he has along the front four.
