Elite Eight is strictly business for USC Aiken

March 25, 2014 AIKEN, SC-- No doubt it's been a great season for USC Aiken. The Pacers are back in the NCAA Dvision Two quarterfinals for the second straight year.

Last season, they were just happy to be invited to the party. This time, it's a business trip.

The regional championship celebration was great, but it's clear the Pacers want the main course. Clearly, they were on a mission in the NCAA Southeast Regional, cruising to the title. The Pacers won each game by double-digits.

Coach Vince Alexander's message remains the same in practice this week. His team expects to play for a championship.

"It feels so different going this year than it did last year. The excitement of being there was a nice thing, but we talked about not just going for the Elite 8. We talked about going there for us," Coach Alexander said.

"You want to pull out all your stops at the end of the year. We definitely feel we can take it to another level. We've been playing good ball lately, but I think we can definitely take it to another level," guard Ron Zimmerman said.

Fair to say, the Pacers are on another level already. 14 straight wins for the senior-laden squad. They haven't lost a game since Feb. 1.

USC Aiken faces Chico State in the Elite Eight round Wednesday night in Evansville, Indiana.
