Waynesboro, Ga--When Buddy Sorrow took over as coach of Edmund Burke, he quickly changed the program around. While they haven't won a title yet, it's the only thing the program hasn't accomplished. That could change Friday night.
For the second straight year and for the second time this season, the Spartans play Piedmont for the crown. Been a great run for the current seniors on the team, many have a baseball title, but it would mean the world to go out winners on the football field as well.
"We've been very successful as a senior class" said Michael Taylor "Winning a lot of games, and this is the only thing we haven't been able to do is win a state championship so this is our last goal"
"Well that's the key. Our seniors have been with us for four years now and they really want to get after it and leave on a good note." said coach Buddy Sorrow "Playing for a state championship is a good thing, but winning it is a great thing!"
To go out on top, they have to beat the best. Piedmont beat 'em by three touchdowns the first time around but Taylor says all the pressure is on them because they're expected to win. Spartans come into the game on a six game win streak.
