Augusta, Ga--It's been a whirlwind couple of days for Deon Grant back in Augusta. Grant, now with a Super Bowl ring in tow, making the rounds. Thursday night he was roasted and today, more engagements.
Which included a stop to the Kroc Center this afternoon to talk to campers. Grant is the first on board when it comes to reaching out to the younger generation as he wants to be a role model. He understands the importantance that younger kids need someone to look up to.
"You have to understand and take that into consideration that it comes with the territory" said Deon Grant "I realized that when I first became a so-called quote star and I just make sure that I go out there and represent and be a good role model instead of somebody that's just trying to wear that title."
Grant is also being honored Friday evening at the Augusta Museum with an exhibit in his tribute. On the field, right now Grant is a man without a team. The former Giant is a free agent and is waiting for the right offer and admits he's not in a huge hurry and would love to come into camp just before the season starts.
