Augusta, Ga--When you think athletics in the CSRA, one of the last schools you think of is Davidson, you know, the fine arts school. But in the pool this weekend, one young lady will be vying for a state title and making history at the same time.

Lindsay Wallace is only a freshmen and when she gets in the pool this weekend, she'll be the first female Titan to be part of the state swim meet. Wallace has actually had one heck of a year in winning all 14 races she was in this year. She also qualifed for states in eight different events, though she can only swim in two during the meeet, that being the 500 and 200 freestyle.

"It's pretty exciting because like at school everyone is like congratulations and everything." said Lindsay Wallace "I was deciding on 500 or 100 freestyle. Like I knew the 200 free was definite, but then I didn't know either 500 or 100 then I decided 500 because this season I've been getting better at like longer distance stuff."

"She has such great range" said Adam Byars "She can do the really short stuff, she can do the really long stuff and kind of everywhere in between and certainly a strength"

Her qualifying time in the 500 is actually sixth fastest in the state this year and in line to qualify for both finals. Despite being just 14 she has a background in competiting in triathlons which has certainly helped her endurance. State swim meet is Friday and Saturday at Georgia Tech.
