Dan Pippin leaves North Augusta for Greenwood job

Monday, February 17, 2014

North Augusta, SC--I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. When you build up a program like Dan Pippin has at North Augusta, you become a pretty hot commodity in the football ranks. Monday night Pippin says goodbye to the Yellow Jackets and hello to Greenwood where he takes over A.D. and head football coach.

Not an easy thing to do as Pippin has done wonders in North Augusta turning a team that won very few games into a legit contender in the state of South Carolina. They only won a single game his first year, but eight years later and 70 wins, yea, the program was on solid footing. Pippin told me earlier today very few programs would interest him, but Greenwood, always a state title contender, was one of them. Now, the search starts for his replacement with the Jackets.
