Augusta, Ga--12 months ago, the Crusaders of Curtis Baptist were the lone team in the area to bring home a state title. They are two wins of doing it again as this team is peaking at the right time.

Despite losing their top scorer from a year ago, the Crusaders return four starters and record wise, actually better then last year. They only have two guys averaging double figures and everyone is contributing. The success and confidence is paying off again this year.

"We have four out of five starters back and we added a big piece with Juwan Rouse " said Micah Ryals "He's been huge for us in rebounding and having that expierence from last year's team, four out of five starters back, amazing, the chemistry is still there, and
everything"

"I'd always like to be better but I do think we're playing well right now." said John Spurlock "Our last loss was mid January and I think we've been playing quite well since then

A little irony here, Curtis plays Dawson Street, the team they beat for the title a year ago. They are one of five GISA schools from our area still playing in the playoffs.
