Augusta, Ga--Let's face it, there's been plenty of lean years at Cross Creek in the wins department. Just two last year and they were certainly hoping for more. Now in coach Robert McCarty's second year at the helm, they expect more, a lot more.

When you watch them practice you see talent all around. The school has a great athletic program, it just hasn't translated well on the football field. Playing in a tough region, coach McCarty knows wins won't be easy to come by but feels if they compete night after night, they should win more then they'll lose.

"My main goal with these guys is that I want them to fight every play, fight every night and for us to be in every game and for us to have a chance of winning" said Robert McCarty "I believe if we do that then we should have a winning season. I know it's a tough region, but we have good kids, we have good young talent and there's no reason we shouldn't have a winning season if they do what they're suppose to."

"This being my senior year, I just know we have to give it our all." said William Hughley. "I can't come out with a losing season, we have to fight."

There's a lot of juniors and even sophomores that'll be relied on to get them over the hump. A couple of guys who've transfered in from out of state will also be playmakers. They open the season against Hephzibah and then it's region play with tough games on the horizon.
